Ministry of Health meets with Shanghai Experts on COVID-19

During these turbulent times, TSTT, headed by CEO, Dr. Ronald Walcott, has been ensuring that keeping the local health community connected is a top priority for the organisation. According to Dr. Walcott, “Virtual conferencing solutions like TSTT’s telepresence has become critical to the development of a coordinated global response to the COVID-19 crisis and its implications…” The video-conferencing technology, provided by Huawei, enabled conference attendees to connect with each other, creating and sustaining a bilateral discussion revolving around evidence based practice, academic research and experience related to the current pandemic. His Excellency, Song Yumin, Ambassador of China to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, expressed his gratitude to TSTT for facilitating the meeting.

At the height of the carnival festivities, PTSC and the Ministry of Works and Transport gave the people of Trinidad and Tobago yet another reason to celebrate and many more opportunities to connect. This is according to Ian Galt, TSTT’s General Manager Enterprise Services, who spoke at the launch of PTSC’s free WiFi initiative and the commissioning of 25 new buses to add to their fleet.

Hillview Spartans’ Giovanni Rivas and St. Augustine Girls High School’s, Madara Edwards, were presented with the Top Male and Female Performer awards respectively courtesy 2020 National Secondary Schools Swim Meet main sponsors, bmobile.

Both athletes competed in the boys and girls Under-12 category and topped their divisions by splashing to three gold and one silver medal performance, each, at the annual one-day meet.

The words of wisdom were given by Amanda Reifer, head of the Cave Hill Academy of Sport in the newly established Faculty of Sport in Barbados. A holder of a BSc and MSc Degrees in Management Studies, Reifer was speaking at the graduation ceremony of the annual cricket academy on Saturday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy at Tarouba.
