The annual Divali Nagar featured nine days of a bustling marketplace of local artisans and artists alongside nightly displays of culture and competition. Thousands of visitors enjoyed the varied aspects of the festival, including the bmobile booth, which saw lively, family-friendly games, promotions and complementary henna body art in keeping with the company’s continued support of all aspects of T&T’s many cultural facets.
For decades, the Divali Nagar experience has been keenly anticipated, leading to the observance of the Divali holiday. The festival physically returned to Central Trinidad after a two-year hiatus and received the support of bmobile, a brand that remains strongly synonymous with celebrating T&T culture.
The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO), with support of corporate sponsors including bmobile, hosted the Diamond Jubilee Independence Calypso Monarch Final Competition on Sunday 25th September 2022, at the Grandstand, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain. Featuring guest performances by the reigning Calypso Monarch, Terri Lyons, and veteran calypsonian Irwin ‘Scrunter’ Johnson, ten finalists competed for the unique 2022 Independence Calypso Monarch crown.
As Tobago Carnival sets the stage for a new level of festival tourism, the alignment with the island’s
only truly local communications solution provider, bmobile, is a natural one. Carded as a liberating festival of cultural expressions, the island will officially produce its unique interpretation of the ‘greatest show on Earth’ in the last weekend of October 2022.
